Hi there everyone at Mercian,

After getting my Dad's Mercian beautifully restored, I decided to take it on a trip. So packed up my panniers and shipped myself and the Mercian over to the continent. Together we went through France, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Sicily, and over to Malta. 3469km of beautifully smooth riding, my chain didn't even come off! Although a few spokes did pang out on the cobbles of Rome and Naples... My Dad had ridden to Venice on the same bike when he was my age, it's also been around Sri Lanka, and done the Lands End to John O'Groats. A well seasoned touring bike.

I'm about to purchase a new (old) Mercian for the next restoration project. Exciting times
