Mikes bike pulling a trailer in the show. As you can see its running a belt drive. This drive system is becoming popular and makes for a clean and quiet / smooth transmission.
Mike writes in his email the following :-
With 32c Schwalbe Marathons - great tires -
and SKS 45c fenders, there is the right amount of room for the fender,
1cm of clearance, the fatty 32c tires, and a topeak frame pump on the
seatstay pump peg. With the rear fender flared out a bit I can remove
the rear wheel from the track ends without tweaking the fender. The
bike rides great at 80psi even in the ice and snow we had this week.
Responsive but very comfortable.

Rohloff belt drive now there's a thought !
